I'm having what seems to be a common problem, in that my LS400 alarm system has disabled the car after the Battery ran flat and I replaced it.

I've tried all the tips for solving the problem, to no avail. I've done Chris Skelton's procedure involving turning the ignition on, disconnecting, ignition off and so on. I've tried turning the key to on for 6 minutes. I've tried sliding the slider on the remote a few times. I've tried pressing the black button on the remote for 10 secs, and I've tried pressing it until the little red light on the remote went out. I've tried the re-programming tips on the LOC US site, even though the car is a UK model with a Scorpion alarm.

None of it worked, and I've still got 2 tons of dead metal sitting in my garage!

Can anyone help? Can anyone recommend an alarm/immobiliser specialist to talk to in the event of there being no more tricks left to try?

Ed, dont dispair, I too had exactly the same problem after I let the Battery go dead while I was working of bush replacements which took me several weeks.

What ever I did, the alarm and imoboliser would be on, nothing happened when I turned the key.

1/ What happend to make this problem happen for you.

2/ disconnect the Battery, wait 1 min, reconnect it, hold the button for 10-20 seconds while pointing towatds the rear view mirrowr like normal, then I think I tried the red panis button, then I locked the car with the black button, opened it with the fob and then it all worked fine again.

I think it is just patience and trying lots of things and eventually it will be ok.

and I trust you know how to silence the siren, otherwise your neighbors will be hating your waft machine before long.

Simon.

If you search for my other posts about Scorpion 5000 problems, the one where it was aralmed because the fob slider was neither up nor down, in the middle, I think I posted the name of the service manager at Guildford Lexus who helped me. He was a tech in 1995 when these cars came out.

Although my car is a 1990 model, I did have a problem whereby the alarm would occasionally sound when turning the key to unlock the vehicle. I must admit I cheated, in that I put a link in the driver's side door connector to prevent the alarm arming when locked. (I have an approved immobiliser so it's no big deal, and nobody would want my car anyway due to its cosmetic condition!)

But I never did find the alarm horn - can anyone enlighten me? Is it in the bulkhead?

I have actually been to Churt - to buy a coloured toilet from an enormous greenhouse. We stopped at a nearby pub that had dragons on the fence, beyond which were some very strange objects! And no, I'm not on drugs, neither was it a bizarre dream. It was all true!
