Insurance Again!

Yes its another insurance post i'm afraid!

Swiftcover decided to increase my premium by almost £200 this year despite having no claims and as well as loosing the 3 points I had!! so its now at £735

27 6yrs no claims no points and been with swiftc for two yrs how they can warrant putting up my premium i'm not sure!!!! but anyway after much searching the cheapest turned out to be kwik fit but i refuse to go any were near them just on principle relating to another incident!

So second best is a company i've never heard of Octagon i found them through the Gocompare site seems to be reasonable but no absaloutly nothig about them has anyone had any experiences with Octagon? or should it just be a case of insurence is insurence? just a bit wary of using an unknown company.

Yeah your renewal doesn't sound right, I'm paying less with admiral and I'm 26 with 4 yrs no claims in London.........have you tried phoning them to haggle the price down?

Not heard of Octagon either, who are the underwriters? You could try searching around the net to see if anyone's complained about them, but are none of the well known insurers getting near their quote then?

Have you given sky insurance a call on here they were the cheapest for me. Good prompt service aswell.

When I got my renewal quote from Churchill in October it had been increased to £283 or thereabouts. When I phoned to complain I managed to get their "Loyalty team" to reduce it to £214.

Also my home & contents renewal quote this week had increased from £199.50 to £288. I phoned to query it and managed to get them to reduce it to £195.30.

Both the above involved no reduction in level of cover so ALWAYS phone to try for a "more realistic" renewal quotation.

OP- have you tried Esure? As you have 4+ NCB you should be able to get a good deal through them?
