Rear Upper Control Arm Bushes

Recommended Posts

I got my recently acquired Lexus through it's MOT yesterday with just 1 advisory for the inner rear upper control arm bushes - rearmost one.

I've sourced replacement bushes from :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:X:RTQ:GB:1123

SPF3012K

Rear Control Arm Upper Inner Bonded Shell Bush, standard,

Kit of 4 Bushes & 4 Tubes:

£115.44 +PP.

I assume fitting is relatively straightforward, but is this a good way to go rather than purchase a new arm?

Pete, it is a pretty straightforward job, but it could be tough too.

not really for the faint hearted, but very expensive for Levus to do.

The bolts could be VERY tight, the old rubbers need burning out and the old shells probably need to be cut out gently.

It was a fun job, I replaced all mine last year. Both bushes on both sides.

I side took too long, about 8-10 hours.

2nd side took about 2 hours, because I had made up a tool and I knew what to expect.

Send me a PM with your email and I'll send you some pics.
