Power Steering Problems

hello, signed up yesturday as i have a problem which started then.

firstly when going out to the car to go down the shops i started it up and went to reverse out of my parking space and the steering was very ver stiff and make a nasty metal on metal noise,

after checking the forums i checked my fluid and looked brown, so i decided to drain it and put some fresh fuild in (Dexron III). after that the steering was stiff but drivable and the noise had gone, after doing some research it has come to my attention that i needed to bleed it, so i did it by removing the cap and steering left right, left right etc.

now when i go to drive it its sometimes stiff to start with but then softens up as i use it, after switching off for 5 mins and starting back up its stiff for a short while and then softens up and is perfect, have i bled it incorrectly? or is there something else at fault, the nasty sound has now gone. im wondering if anyone has any advise and maybe a bleeding guide if i have done it incorrectly. Thank you in Advance!

the car is a 2000 IS200 SE.

Thanks.
