Emissions Failure, Please Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the site, I have a 95 LS400 MKII with 167k on the clock. FLSH and has never given me any trouble until now.............

She failed the MOT as a result of the emissions, my local dealer told me that it could be a number of issues and it may not be viable to go through them considering her age and the mileage. My car is spotless and has always been serviced and repaired by Lexus since new.

Can anyone give me any hints as to what I may need to cure this problem?

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Mark.

If its going to be costly to fix it get it converted to lpg instead, It will fly through the emissions then.

I had a similar problem with a BMW 730, and my mate makes chemicals which are distributed to the motor trade. He told me to put some of his stuff in an almost empty tank, then take it for a few miles blast in second gear - ie keeping the revs up around 5000 rpm for a sustained period. When I took it back it passed the MOT. I can't remember which chemical he gave me but you can call him on 01429 865012 - he's called Dave
