Top End Rattle !

hi im new to the site i have just bought a lexus is 200 2.0 petrol sport and ive just got a quick qeustion to ask about it !

right when i start the car on a morning there is a rattling noise coming from the top end for about 40 senconds till it warms up then goes off once warm when you tap the throttle at about 1000rpm itt rattles then goes off after 1000rpm and it just an annotying noise that happens everytime you touch the throttle till after 1000rpm then it goes off but when idling it is ok also ??

anyone else had this problem or knows what it could be ??

might be a start mate lol no im geting a new oil and filter change friday maybe should of checked the oil level first..

When you checked the oil level the engine was cold and the car was parked on a level surface?

You just bought the car right? Did you buy it from a dealer/private? Any warranty? Was the top end rattle present when you took a test drive?

If its from a dealer, then you should have a warranty, if so take it back and see what he has got to say.

How old is the IS200 and how many miles has it done? Any proof of servicing, like invoices, reciepts, stamped service book etc?

it is on level surface and is semi warm parked it up bwt 45 min ago i bought it private as it a 1999 model with 108 on the clock but drives fine no noises like i say just at 1000 rmp it makes a quick rattle then goes off agen once further up the rev range ??

any one else got any ideas what it could be ???

and just checked it out sounds like the noise may be coming from the water pump not the top end is that a common problem to be rattling ??
