Your Previous Motors.

Just thought it would be interesting to see some photos of your previous motors to see what paths people have come down to get where they are today with a Lexus!

I went through a stage of modifying cars to be more about the looks rather than the power. This was mainly due to insurance!

Just a few of my favourite cars i've owned in the 7 years of driving! :)

100_0149.jpg

I bought this as a rolling shell and had it painted, fitted a 1275 turbo along with a nut and bolt rebuild!

100_0984.jpg

100_0800-1.jpg

100_0737.jpg

I bought the mx3 standard, and had the car features in Fast Car and also made Max Power Top 100 cars at the NEC!

Between building the mx3 I owned loads of cars, but it was only a few years later when I was 21 I bought the Lotus...

Started as this...

1-1.jpg

And after 3 years ow ownership I sold it a couple of weeks back looking like this...

DSCF6186-1.jpg

Had a full respray in a 3 stage Lamborghini paint, along with a set of Compomotive MO's. It also had a 160 engine upgrade and done a trip to The ring aswell as a few track days!

I had to sell the car due to deciding to start a family, and now Im here with my IS200! :)

tbh im pretty sure thats not half the cars ive gone through but ive probably forgotten more then i remembered,i only answered the post as ive often wondered how many cars ive had but never really got round to writing them all down and adding them up-so ill probably add to this list every now and again if you dont mind the thread resurfacing every so often - i am 43 bruce - and i think it shows from that list tbh - i used to be self employed selling cars so only listed cars i considered as mine rather then stock stuff - imo the 944 was not a nice car, mine was about 5 years old when i got it and tbh i didnt really fall in love with it like i thought i would

well you are another one with the 4x4 bug then-we have to keep one for horse stuff - invaluable in the snow - no need for winter wheels when youve got a 4x4 to fall back on

As long as you have desent tires on them (no road ones)

Bad snow this year me and a mate when you with this brother on the moors to play inhis disco (mk1) while up there we had to get out a new disco with all the toys and a big horn (think they called) because they was on road tires and thought that was ok because they had 4x4. no you need all terrian or muds atleast normally to take your 4x4 offroad

i dont know if id agree with that gary-i used barely legal road tyres in the snow as wasnt prepared to change over to chunky tyres on wheels sitting in back garden unless i got stuck-we get bad snow around here and a lot of new 4x4s werent gettin up my hill and i had to tow one a bit - with 4x4 ing i think a lot of it is experience tbh - knowing your limits and thinking about what you are doing before you get in trouble rather then trying to get out of trouble - the snow was up past the bottom of my doors in our hill and i went out whenever i wanted-and took many neighbours shopping when the village was all but cut off and the local shops were out of milk and bread etc-ie coming back with five adults and the boot piled to the roof with shopping - no problem

The only pics I've got of my two previous cars are good old fashioned photgraphs

Not got any digital ones to upload and show off (may have to scan them in at work and upload)

Bought a very early mk3 8v golf gti for my first car (aged 21, fresh out of college), wish id never sold this and would love to have it back. was a 3 door in a very dark blue/purple flip factory paint and was absolutely immaculate.

Kept that fairly standard except for mk4 style lights, bonrath badgeless grille, some spax springs, 17" oz supertourismos with toyo proxes, k&n filter, janspeed full stainless with de cat (car was a late J so didnt need the cat for mot) and an awesome stereo (studied music tech and audio design at college and uni so this was a must!)

Then got me st205 celica GT4 at 23. Nowt too crazy here except blitz induction and full stainless, big BOV, rally style mudflaps, trd corner spats and a few tastefull graphics. Most of the stereo from the golf ended up in this.

Didnt go over the top with either of them tbh, prefer to keep em looking spanking and just a few tastefull bits to make them different.

The current is300 is completely standard but immaculate in every way (dont have the cash for mods, petrol is too expensive!)

I had planned on a few goodies, but gotta pay for my wedding next, and I'll be after something new by then.

yes i do agree with what you say there slightly.

What i ment is thow, you would not race round a wet race track on dry weather slicks with no experience, so why do people think that spending 30k+ on a ne wland rover and go (try going) anywhere and everywhere.

But yes it is also lot down to experience But i think never important thing is tires

I tunes 30 last year and so far i've had

Peugeot 405 gtx - had it for about 6 months then the engine died

Ford Orion - Cant even remeber the model but whatever the sporty one was at the time. It was a J plate.

Nissan Almera Si - Great wee car

Citroen Saxo VTR - wrote this off in a flurry of lift off over steer into a farmers field.

Honda Civic LSI - another great wee car

Citroen Saxo VTR again  - added a few nice mods to this....a crackin induction kit from a place down ayrshire way, GMC performance or something they were called and it was a copy of the Saxo rally cars intake. Then I fitted a 50BHP NOS kit to it. Ashamed to say I had a Saxo with NOS but it was a good laugh and would surprise a few performance cars.

Subaru Impreza Turbo - Bloody loved that car...shouldnt have got rid of it. totally original uk turbo with bout 50k miles on it. It had the Prodrive Recaro interior in it too B)

Lexus IS200 SE - Only had this a about 2 months then me n the Ex split up. I kept the Subaru and she kept the Lexus. Then she didnt pay the Lexus so I ended up with both. BEEEIITCH (but I'm not bitter  ) Sold the Lex.

Lotus Elise - Loved this car but out of the 4 or 5 months I owned it was in the garage 90% of the time so it went back.

Lotus Elise 111R - My favourite all time car and if the credit crunch hadnt take a bite out of me I would still be in it today.

VW Corrado VR6 - Loved this too but my commute went from about 5 miles a week to 100 so it had to go.

Lexus IS200 Sport - had this a couple of weeks now and its been great. As soon as I can get at it with the sponges I will get some pictures up.

Only have some of the Lotus and the Corrado.

It certainly cost me a bit of money! But was worth every penny! I dreamed of owning one since I was about 14 when I saw one for the first time, and 7 years later I bought one! :)

It ran trouble free for nearly 4 years, which was pretty special for a tuned K series engine as im sure you know!!! And that was including a fw trackdays and a trip to the ring!!! :D
