steering feels a small bit heavy lately.

the back of the powersteering pump is oily so i presume the o ring in the back of the pump is gone.

would this alone make the steering heavy or am i looking at something a lot more expensive.

Hi! I had same problem few months ago.. Steering was wery heavy and it didn't center at all! Does your steering center after you turn and let your hands off from steeringwheel? If not, then the problem is in lower balljoint. I changed that and then my steering was normal again :)

Sorry if i explain poorly.. i'm form finland :hehe:

can reccomend a product called "LUCAS POWER STEERING FLUID STOP LEAK" - its widely recomended on 4x4 forums where steering boxes are renowned for leaking fluid due to design,,,mine included,,, followed instructions and leak stopped instantly, read up about it yourself but a lot of other products make similar claims but the one by "lucas" is much vaunted and did work on mine ----- this applies if you have a leak on your power steering system which if run dry will give heavy steering or gnotchy bits - obviously steering is quite important so get it checked by a mechanic
