Oil8382 Anyone Know This Car?

Recommended Posts

Im thinking about buying another LS. One with less miles than mine and in better nick. OIL8382 is advertised on Autotrader and is about 200 miles from where I live, hence the query. Was it owned by you at any time. If so is it as good as discribed.

I dont know how to put in a link that just says "link" but try this.

It identical to mine. I want to gas mine but im thinking of buying a better one that might last a bit longer. Mine is a great car but its done 179k and the exhaust/cat flanges have had it, the body has a few trolly dings, the wheels need refurbing and theres a bit to do on the rear suspension. hence the lookout for a betetr one.

Ive spoken to the vender of this one. Me only got it in yesterday. The dash lights are on teh blink and the exhaust is blowing a bit.

looks good but i thought you fancied a gas one. has cam belt been done? and blow exhaust i would find out how much that would cost to put right before i bought it. :winky:

And the dash lights are a common problem until fixed permanently by " Vince " at about £75 .... at his place.

I can give you his phone number / email addy if you wanted !

It looks clean but I would be concerned about the exhaust blowing is it the same flange problem as you already have on yours or maybe the EGR pipe (what a pig to replace I heard!)

If the dash is blinky that's another &75.00 to fix unless you can DIY also the LCD on the climate control will probably be stuffed so more cash needed there.

The phone number is Nottingham not far from me so if you are still serious let me know and I will go and take a look at it in the flesh for you and report back ( no liability accepted if you buy of course)

Another concern however is FLSH up to 2007 so where and what has been done in between?? When it says "recently serviced" what exactly does that mean cheap oil and filter?

A plus point ( yes there is one!) is you should be able to get that asking price down given the known defects, the extra ones you will find and the current market for large gas guzzling cars :winky:
