Self Adjusting Headlights

I have a '55 RX400R which has the auto adjusting headlights thingy on it.

When I go round a corner the headlights adjust to that direction to aid ilumination into the corner.

Now this adjusts a lot more when turning right than it does when turning left.

Is this normal?

The only reason i can think of is that it could be due to us Brits driving on the left side of the road, and the way the lights distribute their beam (more over to the left), so the light has further to travel to give the same ilumination as it would to the left (if that makes sense).

Yes, the beam steering is not symmetrical left/right, so sounds like your system is working fine. Left side of a UK car will be fairly well lit anyway due to light projection pattern, and fairly dark to the right to avoid blinding oncoming traffic, hence why it steers quite a lot to the right to illuminate round right hand bends.
