Is220D Auto Dip Side Mirror When Put Into Reverse

Hello,

This is a very useful option but unfortunately I don't have it on my Lexus IS220d (I guess it is not SE-L) so my question is can I do it myself? It must be something easy right? If you can control the mirrors electrically probably Lexus left a backdoor to unlock that functionality ...

Are the Lexus dealers offering such intervention?

You can definitely do it as I've recently had mirror tilt added to my IS200 - it's a separate module that's been wired into the mirror motor to tilt a certain amount when reverse is selected :)

This is what I found for the 00-05 IS models. But there is nothing for the 06-10 models.

EDIT: I found this universal solution but it seems like a lot of wire cutting, soldering and taping -> http://www.kptechnologies.com/products.php#/13 and I am trying to avoid that. Do you know if there is a genuine module and what part number it is?

Yeah the one I've got looks just like that - yes there was a bit of wire cutting involved which is why I got someone who knows what they're doing to do it!

As far as OEM I don't think there is - on the mk2 IS it's tied into the memory module (which is why it's only on cars with memory seats) so don't think it's just one module that can be wired into any car.

dont waste your time. My IS220d Sport has it.

After reversing the mirrors dont tilt to the same position they were in.

I dont use them.

i have a bog standard 2007 220d and this feature came as standard.

Mine have on/off funtion for this. The left/right switch for adjustment. If switch is left or right the funtion is on, and if switch is in center the funtion is off :hohoho:
