Intermient Cut-Out? Help Please?

hi all, im a newbie here as only had is200 for a week. its a 99 auto, all was well til today.

iv done just over 500 miles init but today i had 4 hiccups is the best was to describe it, it felt as though the engine cut out for split second with a jolt and then carried on fine!! no warning lights came on but it did feel as though the problem was at the rear, wether its cus its rear wheel drive i dont know.

does anybody have any ideas what to check or might be? if there is a problem i would rather rectify it before it gets any worse.

any help would be gratfully received and hopfuly i can help some of you guys out in the future!!!

Were you setting off?

the traction control on the Is is fairly brutal, just cuts all power when it feels slip, could be that and the bulb on the dash is broken?

no, i was doing about 45 - 50mph. on straight road. as far as i know all light work on the dash.
