Ls430 Suspension Problems

Hi everyone.

Im new to the club and Im looking for help with a problem I have with a 05 LS430.

I have already replaced the offside front shock at a cost of €1200 including fitting at a Lexus dealership in Ireland.

My very good and very reliable mechanic now tells me the left one is gone. I cannot find a replacement shock for the model with adjustable air suspension anywhere. Im very reluctant to part with another €1000 for the new shock. Surely there are alternative options.

Maybe it could be "rebuilt" by a specialist?

Try some classic car sites, they often need to "rebuild" as stocks of new parts have run out.

Thanks for that, I'll take a look. The price of the shock has come down but its still over €700 + VAT + fitting. Its a crazy price but the ride comfort is seriously affected.

Hi and welcome to the LOC.

We have a resident Lexus Dealer on the club (ACLex) who does some good deals on parts offering discounts it may be worth contacting him for a price,even with shipping it could work out cheaper,then just pay the fitting charge.

Hi! Mate I have same car in Ireland but 00. did u tried order from USA? they much cheaper there.and u can check scrap yards here in ireland might they have some.dond go to Lexus garage. too expensive.local garage will fit shocks for about 100euro. good luck

I was wondering how you were getting on in your search for sensibly priced shock absorbers?

I've got a 430 on a 54 plate with only 84000 miles on the clock and have been told I've got "two leaking" front shock absorbers that will cost £1600 to supply and install at my local Lexus dealer. Complete madness!

Please let me know if you've had any success.
