DamianT
I have a dilemma. My lovely LS400 has been sat in my back yard since around April and hardly moved anywhere, I've fired her up every week or so and last month I insured her for a fortnight so I could actually drive her until the tax and MOT ran out (end of Nov). Apart from her rear suspension being a tad solid and internal dampness, she was a dream and I loved every mile!!! Now here's my dilemma. She needs to go. I could insure her again, take her in for a new MOT, apply for 6 months tax which would cost around £200 'cos I'm confident she'll pass... ish! But what I'm not confident about is selling her, especially in this naff economic climate... plus she a few minor issues! Or, I could drive... sorry, tow her to the scrap yard down the road, remove her nearly new tyres and brand new Battery and wave her goodbye. As I've mentioned, even with her service history and new bits, I don't think I'd get much for her. What are the thoughts of the knowledgable collective, sell or scrap? Hi Post the issues and full details of the car. We can sort it from there.
Nitmoi
I was offered £250 max for breaking out in parts. If you don't want the tyres, I could use them. It is a rotten dilemma, I've been there 2x this year!
DamianT
Post the issues and full details of the car. We can sort it from there. The only 'real' issues she has is a blowing exhaust and the rear suspension seems to be rock solid, but I seem to remember it being like that when I first got her, the more miles I drove the softer it became. I've a rust hole in one of the doors which I think is what's making the interior damp, well I say damp, the headlining is wet through! Malc
Damp headlining is probably just a sunroof drain hole bunged-up. Malc

Fully open the sunroof and they are at the two front corners in my 94 LS400. I just poked them gently through with a wooden toothpick ( don't break it tho ). sir john
Tough dilemma. Your firm rear suspension might be lack of use or broken springs. They brake at the top so its not easy to see without removing the wheels. She will be sitting low if they are broken. £50 per spring and a day to fit. The wet headlining is most likely the sunroof but might also be a leak from the top of the windscreen. I thought mine was the sunroof but its not. The chrome and rubber strip had lifted from the glass thus letting the water through. Exhaust blowing is most likely the famous flanges between cats and "Y" piece/pipe. 2 tubes of plastic metal, a wire brush and an hour should fix it...for a while. For £200 you could (and should) be driving round in the best car in the world.
