Handbrake Handle

Hi

Ive been thinking about changing my handbrake handle for an after market one.

I was wondering has anyone done this, or does anyone know how to remove the handbrake handle itself; I have tried prising it out but it wont budge so I'm thinking it could be a saw off job..?

Any info appreciated.

If Toyota/Lexus do things in a logical manner, my 2.8 Celica-Supra had the grip molded to the metal lever, i bought a spare lever and cut the grip off, that way i could return the car back to original if needed.

I did see the ones you are talking about on a website, but not sure if im keen on them, the styles I seen available arent as good as the few ive got my eye on. Goin to invest in a mini hacksaw I think. Wouldnt mind knowing where I could get some suede gaiters, if they actually exist anymore for the is200

If cutting it off goes badly wrong, this will get you out of trouble... :winky:

lol thanks for that Bob. Maybe I should buy that and test my experiment, might be easier and less messy to do off the car. Just not sure how hard it is to take the whole thing out and replace.

I know, I noticed that aswel, but I think the one im looking at getting has a chrome extension piece that would probably fill the gap. But my leather gaiter goes quite high up on the handle so that also may work in my favour
