Newby Altezza Buyer Needs Help

Hi All

I have been looking for an altezza for a few months and thought I had finally found a manual low mileage one in decent nick.

The thing is it is registered as a Lexus IS200 and has Lexus badges on the back however apart from this it appears to be an RS200z Altezza. BEAMS engine, Allttezza interior, alloys all the bits you would expect it to have.

But why is it registered as a Lexus and not a Toyota? Has anybody heard of this being done before?

It’s V REG so if it is a genuine altezza it has been in the UK for a while and being V plate means it was around before the VIC check system began in 2003.

I think it has either been incorrectly registered or is a re-shell or something. However I find it hard to believe it is a re-shell because if so it is very tidy and appears perfectly true to the original

Apart from the LEXUS and IS200 badges on the back.

I am going to try and get the VIN number and see what that comes up with.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What's the chassis number? Is it SXE10? It could be an IS200 with an engine transplant
