Dear all,

My beloved LS400 MK4 has failed it's MOT. The offside read lower suspension arm has play in the ball joint (Salt problem). Very lower rear arm towards the rear of the car Joint of outer end of arm.

Do I need to replace the whole arm or can I buy the ball joint? If so, where?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards Mike

I seem to recall the same one failing on my car resulting in a complete new arm and needing complete retracking afterwards.

Apologies, it was the upper arm I had to replace

When my '98 LS failed the MOT in October on an upper balljoint, the motor factors supplied a lower in error and the garage fitting it quoted me £90 for the balljoint. I ended up buying an upper arm from Lexus for £185.

Try Cheap Toyota Parts as Steve suggested, but don't write off your Lexus main dealer without giving them a shot first.

Try Andy (ACLex on here) he may be able to help you.

Thanks

Mike
