Air Con Cutting Out After 10 Mins

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've owned my 2002 RX300 since 2006 and just about to change it for an RX400h. I'm trying to sort out all the minor problems with my RX before I put it up for sale privately and I am hoping somebody can help on this one.

My A/C works fine for the first 10 minutes or so after switching on and then the A/C light above the button starts flashing and the cold air is replaced by normal outside temp air coming in. I've had the system topped up and re-pressurised including a new condenser fitted (as the old one was leaking apparently) but problem persists.

It's like the system reaches a certain operating temperature then drops out. I'm wondering if there could be a faulty sensor or something simple?

Any suggestions much appreciated

Thanks

Roger

Hi, The only thing I can think of is maybe there is a filter that may be blocked causing the system to shut down because it is over heating, sory but I haven’t a clue were the filter is, hope this may help.

Thanks fro the quick response. There's an air filter behind the glove box which I have cleaned but maybe a main air intake that I should check out. Thanks again.
