Hi All

I have recently purchased an IS220d (08 plate). I have noticed that their is lag with the turbo having read these forums it appears that this is a familiar issue with the car. I have 12 months warranty and was wandering whether I should bother taking the car back to the dealership to investigate or just accept that this is just a quirk that I need to get used to? The turbo does sound a bit "whistly" again, it may be normal. I was previously the owner of a Jag X-Type and never had either of these issues.

Finally, these are my only two probs with the car - am preferring the extra torque the Lexus has and the rear wheel drive having always driven front wheel drive cars previously.

Danny,

I had the minor lag problem, but, Lexus Aberdeen re-flashed the ECU and it improved greatly. Thw whistle from the turo is quite normal, although a little pronounced on some models. This isn't peculiar just to the IS220d. I hear it om Merc's, renaults, mondeo's and others, so it is nothing to worry about. I have driven a few different IS220d's as loan cars, and they were exactly the same, so i wouldn't worry. As Matus suggests, if you're worried, try to get a shot of another one just to see.

cheers, I hadn't driven a Lexus previously, test drive being the first time. I have noticed a loose windscreen exterior seal that is loose so they will be having the car back to sort that out so i will mention lag anyway and ask about ECU at the same time.
