Bluetooth Audio Player - Selecting A Track

My apple Iphone 4 connects fine using Bluetooth.

It lets me select a track on the built-in iPod.

I use "^" and "v" on the steering wheel on my IS 250 F-Sport MY 2011

For some reason, I cannot use this functionality when I connect my wife's apple Iphone 3GS

I have to change tracks using the controls on the Iphone (not when driving of course!).

Any ideas please?

It just seems very temperamental when using with Bluetooth.

Try rebooting the Iphone. It worked for me, for a while, and now its got a mind of its own again ! The Lexus Bluetooth software is just not very Iphone friendly !

By rebooting, do you just mean power down, then power up?

Argento, try holding both the menu and the off button at the top until the phone switches off then on again (until the apple logo reappears) to do a hard reboot.

What version of iOS is your wife's 3GS running? Is it the same as your 4?

By "Menu" do you mean what I belive is also called the "Home" button?

The round button at the bottom of the phone.

Also, just checking that if I do a hard reboot I won't lose any data or settings?

Is it just like we used to use Ctrl+Alt+Del in DOS?

This could be it.

I'm running Version 4.3.5 on my iPhone4

She is running the one before that on her 3GS, Ver 3.0 (can't get to her phone to confirm exact version right now)

Tried the hard re-boot.

No change.

My wife does not want to install Ver 4 OS at the moment.

I'll leave this for another time I think.
