Timing Belt

Hi All,

I have an IS200SE (05) according to my service book the timimg belt should be replaced at 100000m, but I've been advise to ignore this and change it at 60000m. and also the tensioner and water pump are common problems and should be checked too. I've contacted an inde[endent Lexus garage and he didn't seem too sure either. Any one else had issues with these parts?

Change all at 60k or every 7 years according to my book and experience. They suggest water pump changes at the same time as it's easier to do with all the covers and belts off.

It is every 60k or 6yrs whichever comes first.

hello, like Mars said its 60,000 miles or 6 years whichever comes 1st.Furthermore its cheaper in the long run changing your waterpump ,tensioner etc at the same time too as you dont really pay anymore in labour costs only parts.I would have it done now as it would cost you lots more if it fails.
