De-Misting The Windscreen

I find that de-misting the windscreen (after scraping off the ice) takes longer on CT200 than my Merc (and the BMW the CT replaced). I've followed the manual but it takes 3-4 mins to clear, anyone have any tips? Is this because the engine doesn't fire up straight away? I find it frustrating that I have to drive a couple of hundred yards for the engine to kick in and then sit there while the screen clears. Fortunately, I live at the end of a Cul de Sac and cars do not generally park in the road!

Sorry, I cant offer any help but it is useful to know that theres a defogging issue from cold. I keep mine in a garage and so havent come across that problem- yet. No doubt I will encouner the same dificulty when parked in the street on a cold night. Forewarned is forearmed

This must be due to cutting back on the AC/Blower performance to save weight and fuel. My RX is still the best demisting car I have owned by a massive amount. (Inc MB, BMW)
