Still got water coming in on my LS400, shall i replace the rubber if so anyone got any sites i can go on

Any suggestions please

Following advice on here, I removed my seal, thoroughly cleaned both the seal and the lip on the car, blowing out the seal and leaving overnight to dry, then refitted using silicone mastic.

So far so good, boot is bone dry.

Hi Colin,

my boot was full of water a few weeks ago.

My problem was the water was creeping over the boot seal below where the number plate goes. The boot lid was not compressing the seal enough to keep the water out. All I did was stick some draught excluder on the boot lid to compress the seal. I have had no more water in the boot and I have extensively tried to get it to leak.

The way I discovered where my leak was to park the car on a level surface with the boot lid shut and pour jugs of water all around the shut lines. Then, very carefully, lift the boot lid and see where the water was getting in.

I hope this helps.

Steve.
