Ive just noticed a weeping on what looks like a seal (gasket type fillting?) around the top of the radiator. It only happens when the system is hot and pressurised . My question is - is this a common problem and is it repairable ( Ive been quoted £73 for a new radiator anyway and fitting doesnt look like too much of a challange)

Yeah, looking at the later parts diagrams, the GS ones are built into the fan cowling too (just looks like the are sitting on the radiator). There must be other differences in that case as the part numbers for mk1 and mk2 radiators are different.
