Automatic Transmission - Strange Noise When Reversing

Dear All,

I'm posting this topic to seek some advice from fellow IS owners.

I own a 2000 Lexus IS200 automatic with 99k on the clock.

Recently I've noticed that when I engage into reverse and the car starts moving backwards, there is a metallic noise as if something was trying to stop the car from moving (brakes?) It only lasts for a few seconds and then disappears. It started to become more regular and it only happens on the first few seconds of reversing.

Does anyone has experienced the same problem in the past or might know the possible cause?

Your comments will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

What I would do first is check the level and color must be red and not smell bad, then drain and fill with 2.4 liters of T-IV or equivalent.

My car has 225,000 km and the transmission is perfect.

I change the ATF every 40,000 km
