Hi Mike, looks very nice. I see you've got the in dash satnav / control centre with it being the later model. That's something I would have liked being into my gadgets. :)

I hope these turn out still having trouble downloading pictures.

I see in now Norman, looks very nice. Where did you get your chrome tailpipes? I've been looking for some, but you can't fit normal ones with the ends of the tailpipes being curved, unless you chop the curve off, which I don't really want to. Although looking at yours pointing down rather than straight out, have you just fitted them to the curve at the end?

Hello Guys: Thanks for the feedback, when I am trying to link photo's to put on here, it's like the famous saying: "HOUSTON " we have a problem" I used the system on here to upload the pictures, but you can only load one, something to do with the size of the pictures.First off Mikey, No I didn't fit the reversing sensors myself, it was an auto electrician who does some work for the local Lexus garage. Second Mark, The tail pipes have been cut to fit onto the exhaust pipes, and " U " clamps hold them on so they follow the curve of the exhaust. It does make the rear end look different along with the American type rear lights, the front also has the clear indicators on it but it's getting the pictures on show, is another "HOUSTON" problem.

Cheers Norman

Thanks Mark.

The touch screen is good, though I don't even want to think about it going wrong, but the satnav is outdated and clunky to use.

I'm not sure if it can be updated usefully, or what it might cost (think we can safely assume not cheap!!), but I just plug my old tom tom one in on the rare occasion I need satnav.

Hi Norman, I had similar problems loading images, I'm not even sure where they are to be honest, as I don't see them associated with my profile page.

Hi Norman, I noticed the clear lenses after I sent that last post, so thought you must have done the conversion. I saw Edd China do it on the LS400 episode of Wheeler Dealers, he also fitted different alloy wheels, and it does modernise the look of the car. The only thing stops me doing it, as although they look good, I'm not a fan of clear lenses with coloured bulbs on any car, to be honest. From a safety point of view, they're much harder to see in bright sunlight than amber lights. But all the new cars seem to be going that way, style over function maybe?

I know what you mean about the satnav, from what I've read they moved from a cd based system, to a dvd based one, so probably not possible to update. Although the touch screen functions look nice to have for the radio, climate control etc. I guess you'd have to come from the angle of just enjoy using it while it works, and it it breaks eventually, just don't repair it, due to the value of the cars now. Enjoy. :)

This subject has come up before and I don't think anyone ever solved it. There is talk that there is a CD based update but I have never seen one. Its also a major headache apparently installing a DVD based system.

I just use my Tom Tom.

Hello Mark

: I know what you mean but the clear lights have (2) bulbs in them , one to the front and one to the side + the one on the wing, as you say it could be style over function, but they do work well.

Cheers Norman

PS : I still have the Orange lights in my shed should I need them.

Hi MikeyV. Good pics. It looks as if you are missing some Lexus symbols on the hub caps. I had the same problem with my

'99 LS400. In the end I got some from the USA - good value. Google 'Lexus Hub Caps'. Although my wheels have been

resprayed the alloy look of the new hub caps works well.

Hi Norman,

I know what you mean the "Lexus rear light" look started it all off some years ago, and all the manufacturers seem to have gone that way, clear lenses with coloured bulbs. They do look nice, but to my eyes I find them harder to see flashing in bright sunlight compared to the old style lenses. Can't seem to see anywhere on eBay doing them apart from foreign sellers, China or US, I did look after I saw Edd China fit them as they do make the car look younger.

Thanks Stericker, I'll take a look, the wheels could do with a refurb as well, just need some spare time and better weather.
