In The Us And My Is200 Is In Ireland - Can I Buy Is300 Mods Here And F

Hi All,

I have a is200le in Ireland and I'm thinking of shipping some mods home from the US. Maybe a new Stainless exhaust and a intake kit. My question is - Can I buy the is300 mods and expect them to fit the is200? Any recommendations on the best mods to get - nothing too fancy. Just want to make the car a bit more responsive.

Nothing is really gonna make your car 'a bit more responsive'

Exhaust, air filter, induction kit etc are not gonna make your 200 go any faster! Forced induction is the only way to increase power. Supercharge or turbo charge :)

If the parts you are getting has IS200 or 1G-FE engine code listed on it then yes it would fit but for all I know the intake on IS200 and IS300 is different not sure about the exhaust tho maybe they might share the same exhaust system but worth asking the performace parts dealer first if it would fit IS200's. IS200's were not sold in US so finding parts there would be quite tricky.

IS200 is as responsive as any 150bhp 4 door sedan offered by other manufactures but because it does it in a smooth way and engine note sounds throaty it gives drivers the idea of being less powerful than it is I did test drove a few before i got the IS300 and the enigine note sounds better than the 300 until M mode is selected before the sound changes. you can definately fit an intake and cat back exhaust from Apexi, HKS and the likes but wont yeild any more than 5-10bhp on the dyno if you lucky. if its just for the sound the you will be ok but for power you might have to Supercharge it as the engine takes a supercharger very well which will boost it to around 220 - 250bhp depending on boost and other mods to acompany it. or if you dont have the time and energy for doing the mods swap the IS200 for the IS300 which which can propel you to 60 in a respectable 7 secs and hit 150mph in real world performance. have had mine at 147mph but wont advise this on UK roads
