Lexus Is200 Sport Hid Headlights Issue

Hi guys

I have a 2001 Lexus IS200 Sport - and have been having ongoing issues with my headlights for the past few months.

Initially the left headlight died - but all of a sudden came back on again.

A few weeks later the right headlight started failing after about 30 seconds to a minute - but flicking the lights off and on bought them back no temporarily for another minute or so.

However, now the right one is totally dead... and the left went again last night.

After lifting up the bonnet and changing the right bulb, this made no difference. I took the fuse out for both the headlights and switched them over - which made no difference either. However, when i switched them back again - the left headlight came back on - but the right one still isn't working.

Has anyone had this issue before... or have any ideas what may be causing this?

sounds like a ballast problem to me, one on each headlight, if bulbs are ok only option is to replace ballast units. Are they aftermarket or retro fit is300 units?

I thought it was balasts on mine untill i got no headlights at all and the relay started clicking. Needed a new anti theft ecu which cured it
