Help! Urgent Fluid Drip

Recommended Posts

hi,

notice some fluid drip from the connection between the prop shaft and gear box, towards front end of prop. Check Haynes and it said quite likely seal broken. How do i check the level of this fluid?? What fluid is it using? Is it safe to drive? Thanks

I don't know anything about your car but transfer cases usually take between 1-2 litres. And the fluid is something like 80w-90.

Call up your local motor factor and they will say what oil goes in the transfer case. it's really hard to ****** up a transfer case.

Why was it not refilled by the person who replaced the seal - or are you planning to do both yourself?

Under the impression no ones replaced the seal, garage just confirmed the diagnoses.

If they had half a brain they would have checked the level.
