Has the vehcile a full lexus history so far in life? (i stay with dealers then)but if not and want to use independents

Many good independent repairers out there but use the genuine parts at least and oils of correct grades keeps all nice and neat for re-sale and service book stamps

full service to me is all replacable service parts changed eg

filters all plugs oils engine, transmissions diff, pollen filter and wiper blades brakes checked cleaned and adjusted headlight aim checked and adjusted if required,

check brakes on rolling road brake test of system and print out.

Mechanical report of vehicle in all areas and advise on future repairs.

Valet and hoover out hand back to customer

I doubt half of what you list actually gets changed even in a full Lexus service. Pollen filters, fuel filters etc are all extra and not part of a standard service. Pretty much all that gets changed in a full service is oil & filter, air filter, engine coolant, brake fluid. The rest is just checks. You could get a more comprehensive service and probably pay half lexus prices else where.

I have have this dilemma, both my lexus are 06 plates with full Lexus service history.

I am now considering a local family run garage who will use genuine Lexus parts to continue my future services. In a couple of years from now my cars will be 8 years old and full Lexus service will have little or no effect on its resale value as long as it has been serviced regular somewhere.

yes im in the same boat and yes it has a full lexus history but its a car im looking to keep and the value of a main dealer service just isnt worth it especially at the price they want to charge,

i was looking for garages who maybe specialise with Lexus and get it done from them insted and as far as i have been told aslong as they use genuine parts my warranty is intact.

so an anyone reccomend a garage near manchester? i have heard about charlsworth motors in glossop they are abit far out anyone used them?

thanks to CHUNKY CHIP and Carl911 for your input
