  1. I Have found my future car its loaded and always wanted one even before this is200 i have at the moment. So is there anything that goes wrong often i should be aware of on this model thanks
  2. Check the clutch is moving manually with engine switched off feel for easy or tight movement. Then find the sight glass in the system see if you can see any form of liquid there if not quick and easy way use one the we will check your AC places like ats or such like they can connect and check the system. it does not take much for the A/C to stop when gas levels are low and this can happen when the a/c is not used as the compressor seal drys up and gas leaks past this point often also so its always good to run a/c whenever possible even in winter just to keep system in operating condition. let ne know after the above checks
  3. you can get them as singles they are sold by sealey and laserline as there are 4 sizes for toyota the one you want is the 2nd size up look at sealey or on machine mart website they have the same items in diff makes
  4. i see 2 sport cross on a regul;ar basis on the most days whichever way i go up north
  5. its within the lights structure as a unit simply drop the light out disconnect the wire you see going to the light unit. Before that do you have a tvss black alarm siren? or do you have a what looks like a horn unit that acts as the sounder as the tvss unit were always palying up a lot try that
  6. Brakes i buy genuine calipers for the is at a very good price from the dealer. The caliper i did not mind the price it was the shoe fitting kit and caliper pin kit that really made me think "HOW MUCH" that took a few days to get over as its a lot for a few pieces but as they say its got to be done
  7. if in doubt get it done thats best option use genuine parts and change tensioner and idler also ask them to check water pump while they are at it and all other drive belts too.
  8. Just for reference for you its neg terminal off for battery removal first and then pos and pos first when putting battery back on then neg just stops anything shorting out if you were to drop a spanner working live side with neg connected... As for the problem did you mean its turning over and not firing or not turning over????
  9. lfa is on top gear now iam watching it
  10. the question is why would it want to tell you its active you already know that. In all the years i have not seen an airbag light/symbol on unless there is a problem or fault.. Or do you mean the light is a display light not a diagnostic light?
  11. Go to your local dealer ask them to quote for a towbar fitting and electrics and they will tell you if its possible or not/
  12. tar and glue remover works fine on the tar part chrome i use polish restorer eg for silver and plated metals there is a mild compound very fine that works nice
  13. any good quality make castrol i always used for many years for all oils castrol also do a similar auto oil as per mobile 3309 spec i think its starts with a jsw
  14. remove the headlining ready you will see then all the securing bolts for holding the unit up as the car is 4 door i usually remove the n/s/f seat to make it easy to take it all out and putting back the assembly
  15. this is not a simple job there is the timing of the cables and the motor to consider first off removing headlining is the basics if you wnat to get that out and you will see the frame box it all sits in then once you done the headlining out and you can see the box post again and we will go on from there ok have you tryed pressing the button as if you are closing it and pressing up on the glass to help it shut? parts are a variety of small pieces joined up we will cover that if you need the information ok. if the cables are u/s buy new not old worn cables first off
  16. i have 2 is200 lexus both 1999 v plates both have 17inch alloys as std but just went to do the tyres change rear x 2 1 car has 225-45-17 all round the car other has 215-45-17 allround Not noticed this before hand until i just went to write down tyre sizes for prices any ideas theorys? whats the correct size or did they play with tyre sizes cant see why but?? ta
  17. looking at the photos the sunroof has just gone into drop mode which is the point before it slides back. 1st hsve to tryed to tap gently on the other side that will not go down? as a sunroof not used for a while will often stick due to mould or mosh between the rubber and the roof metal part try that first if it drops then move back a fraction and look at the edge to see if there is any dirt or general mesh there that can be wiped off. 2nd if that is not working does the roof make any noise at all when you press slide or clos? 3rd as it is i thinkl number 1 above will help get it shut if its stuck if it is still jammed when you tap it with your hand 9done this often they go down only 1 never did) once down try slide back after cleaning edges as above then close it up when its closed try tilt and also clean along the seal edge where dirty mould etc usually collects if its not been used recently. 4th if it still jammed after all the above post it and i will help further this common on all toyotas with a roof of this type as it retracts into a sealed housing within the roof space dont worry about try above and ;let me know the cables do snap but only ever seen one in 30years that was from rust on the connecting end lets do above and go from there :D cc
  18. Check them out carefully with regards to issues they have shown be having in the past and present time. There are good ones and bad ones buy from a dealer for the warranty if possible for piece of mind cover if it goes pear shaped and some of the old problem show face But read on this forum there are many a story or problem that can be read here
  19. also try a harsh cutting compound first such as a g6 more gritted then a finer g10 then t-cut etc its a way of cutting paint but in stages before wet sanding it as a cut and polich will be required after wet sanding if you do so rough cutting compounds are also a good try first Is the car black? if so mix tcut colour restore with cut compunds also
