Yep, just took a wire brush to them, gave them a good going over to get them as smooth as possible. Then applied the lacquer. The lacquer i used dried unbelievably fast so did each one in about half an hour and just went round the car as only had one jack. Like any painting, prep work is key, so smoother you get them rubbed down the better finish you get. The paint i used was a gloss engine lacquer so didnt need seperae lacquer coat which made it quicker. Then just stuck the decals on.

This is the stuff I used, post-45357-0-84589000-1357773639.jpg it dries quick so make sure you have some thinners to get your brush into otherwise the brush will be rock hard by time you get to next calliper (if doing them one by one) or have a few brushes maybe.
