Tar On My Alloys

Recommended Posts

tbh the best way i find is to use your nail, its tedious but i wouldnt risk using anything rough so not to scratch them, even a good scrub wont get it off. After picking, then wipe any tar residue off.

Ive seen products for tar but havent used them sorry

White Spirit is th best for this and its a cheap fix too. Gonna be getting some OEM mudflaps this week cos theres so much grime getting flicked up the side of my IS. £60 though but he-ho, if you love you don't count and all that

What he said ^^^^^^^^^^^^ then a wash down with car shampoo, dry then a coat of polish to make them shine and a coat of good wax to seat it all in, plus it will make cleaning them half the work next time!!!

Did you have a go at your seat Petay?

No havent got around to it yet. Been really busy at work recently and havent had much spare time! and before i do anything i need to get it serviced and cambelt etc changed, ive been putting it off for ages now! lol

anyway im going to go over to my brothers and we'll look at it together this week sometime, hes all clued up when it comes to anything electrical

anyway i really appreciate your help, ive been trying ever since i got the car to try and find out the problem without much luck, your the first to actually to have a fix after trawling thru all the LOC threads on the matter, so thanks, im really hoping its as simple as yours was, if not i will prolly get a used seat, i want a leccy one anyway :whistling:

It may also be as simple as replacing the switch because its faulty, the backlight and on/off LED flickers like theres a loose connection somewhere, there about a tenner on eBay....
