Knackerd Diff ....... Almost !

Don't know if this has been covered before , I have a 2005 rx300 with 85k under her belts, bought a month ago from the auction , car drives the biz , took her to mates (dave) for full service inc auto box oil change , plugs etc while up on ramps , noticed a fine mist of oil on and around the rear diff , Dave phoned his mate at Lexus chester for the oil seal and was told it's such a common failing that they always stock new diffs . The seal fails , oil disappears , diff heats up and bang :-( so check yours soooon . Seal is only just over a tenner plus fitting .

Not a very good advert for Lexus reliablility when they have them in stock, well spotted,saved you a fortune and many thanks for sharing the information.

Take care this weekend there may be lots of LOC RX 300 owners with their feet sticking out from under their cars, make sure you drive around them not over them :D

Fair point about reliability , but all cars/makes have some issues of some sort so it's nowt to worry about :-)
