Hi my ls430 has developed a weird symptom, when driving at high speed e.g. motorways and I go over a rough bit of road the car is stotting about quite alarmingly, other than this it is behaving as normal. but as I say on rough stretches of road it is a two handed job to keep hold of it.

just wondered if anybody had any ideas as to what could be causing this. thanks in advance Bob.

There are many possible causes from incorrectly inflated tyres, mistracking, poor tyre balance, mismatched tyres, worn suspension components.

It would perhaps be an idea to have these components checked at a garage.

Must admit mine can be a handfull on rough roads bouncing all over the place,my MOT tester once commented on the vague handling but couldn't say why as everything was tight and secure.

Hi guys just an update on this situation,

had the car in at my Lexus dealer and it turns out drivers rear suspension had collapsed so several hundred squids later all sorted and back to the way she was, cannot believe I drove all the way home from Belgium with it like this. according to the guy at Lexus the drivers side rear sphere was shot and had to be replaced, and on the invoice it was down as "replaced rear air suspension unit" at a cost of £635.37 + vat. a lot of cash I know but this is also a lot of car and I wouldn't swap it for anything. thanks for your help guys

Thanks for coming back with the reason for the problem albeit an expensive fix, could you post what was replaced to sort it as it may help other members if they get similar problems.
