Hi all, my drivers side, rear door decided not to close (kept bouncing open) after my husband was polishing the car. He had the Smart key in his pocket at the time and he thought that maybe the car had become confused with all the opening/touching of the button and closing etc. He disconnected the Battery & we have done all the usual open/close, pushing, turning off the Smart button etc. The Lexus dealer think it is the actuator, which is ridiculous money at £517 plus labour and I know you can buy a motor on eBay for around £5. I am not certain this is the problem now though, as I have been messing about with the lock/catch & now the door closes normally, but it is just the soft close function that is not working on just this door. Could an actuator cause this problem or is there anything else I could try without removing the door panel. I can't see any posts on this malfunction, so any feedback would be helpful.. Many thanks.

Hi, no you could close it with a really hard push, but now after WD40 & messing about with the catch, it now closes with normal pressure, but the soft close function does not suck the door shut, if you don't quite close it properly, I think we will just live with this, after all it is no hardship. All the other doors operate fine.
