I am trying to install DRL lights on my 2007 Gs450h and I was wondering if anyone has successfully installed them on this car. I am intending to install Ring Apollo which will fit nicely adjacent to the fog lights. These lights dim at night so I need to make three connections.

1.to earth- no problem.

2. to side lamps - not easy access, but can be done.

3 positive feed constant on. You would usually put this to the positive Battery terminal, but I discovered the Battery is in the boot. I understand that there is a positive Battery post in the engine bay. Can I use this? If so where is it ? A picture would be great.

Anyone help?

Thanks

Surely you need a "switched +" (i.e. one that only stays live all the while that the ignition is on), if that is the case then the Battery terminal (in front or back) will be useless as the lights will be on even when the car is off….

You will need to access something like the ciggy lighter, or back of the stereo??

Where ever you take your 12 Volt constant feed from it would be wise to fit an inline fuse in the wiring, if you don't and the wiring gets damaged it could pose a fire risk.

Also ensure the wiring is correctly routed to avoid chafing and heat sources preferably attached to the existing loom as far as possible.

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry but I need to access what I listed. I have fitted these to other vehicles before. They have a built in voltage change unit so they detect when the car is turned off and come with inline fuse. I need to find the positive Battery post in the engine bay.
