Ball Joint

Hi all

I had my is up on the kack today (cleaned and regreased the pads and check over) and i noticed some play in the bottom ball joint when i lift wheel up and down but nothing at all pulling the bottom of wheel

its knakered right ?

Lower ball joints are a weakness, change it for how cheap they are IMO. £30-40 from dealer and yeah you want OEM not cheap eBay jobbies :)

ideal thanks bought a pair while i was there no the bloody track rod end nut is seized solid so ive got to find out what nut it is or its a new track rod end!

Wait... Those nuts always sieze! A little bit of heat from a blowtorch should loosen it up :)

Then you will have to replace the attached track rod end. I had exactly the same problem. Seems to be a common problem with these cars - see other posts on various creaking, squeaking and grinding noises associated with suspension issues. Hey ho, nothing's perfect - not even a Lexus!
