Sat Nav - Route Trace Function

Recommended Posts

" -Route trace It is possible to store the travelled route up to 124 miles/200km and retrace the route on the display"

Page 111 of my Navigation System Owner's Manual.

IS 250 F-Sport MY 2011

Does anyone know in what circumstances you would want to retrace a route?

I don't get it?

BTW storing the route is a piece of cake.

If you 'like' driving it is useful for when you find fun roads. Also, you may stubmle acorss a better route somewhere not registered by the satnav routes and wish to use said route in the future.

It's also handy if, say, you follow someone to a destination you have no clue about and then want to retrace your steps back to a hotel or whatever.

I used it to follow a chap from a church via a quick route he knew to get to the reception afterwards. Found it really useful.

Also used it to navigate back to the M25 when a chap had guided me to his house in London. Did not have a clue where I was going...but having bought the bits from him..the trace took me right back to the M25....Brill!!
