Diesel In The South East

Recommended Posts

just to let you all know... the quality of fuel, diesel in particular in the south east is atrocious...

the refinery still hasn't reopened and its been put back by almost a year since they found "problems" with the contractors allegedly... my 14 plate truck has already had a fuel filter change.. the 63 reg ones are getting done about every 8 weeks... the fuel has solids as well as water in it and plays the engine management up ..

I have just changed my fuel filter on my 220.... what a bleedin nightmare.... !!!

ended up buying a new housing from lexus (£95 +vat) and seems to have improved back to how it was all those years ago.... I also got another filter cartridge to change next year too.

ESSO has the best quality fuel as far as my colleagues are concerned( they have their own supply ) all other garages... supermarkets etc, are still running the same stuff... with the odd different additive ! its a hit and miss affair i'm afraid. ( not all points get the same additives etc)

so...

quality... shell v power nitro... or bp ultimate etc....

all others, you take your chance...

any other news , i'll be back !

you could be on to something about diesel.

I used to Asda diesel even thou it was cheap it never used to give me great mpg so since changing to Shell Regular diesel my mpg has increased and feels alot better to drive.

I am yet to try Shell Vpower Nitro, have you tried this if so how was it?

I have gone over to v-power + nitro every time now it's still low mpg but it must clean the engine better so will stick with it!!!
