I need a 12v socket fitting in the boot of my 2002 ls430 is this possible ? my mate can fit it, he's asked if there's a fuse box in the boot to connect to, or is there a better way.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think the LS430 has a seperate fuse box in the boot, where you connect the cigar lighter socket to depends on how much current you are planning on drwing from the socket.

There is a heavy gauge 12 volt feed to the boot release solenoid which is fairly accessible, on the LS400 the wire is coloured black but please check this to confirm, you could tap of this wire for your supply but fit an inline fuse at no more than 10A.

There is indeed a fuse box in the boot, left hand side under the carpet after you remover the spare wheel cover carpet.

Think all the fuses are used for something already though.

Thanks for that I will let my mate know, he's an electrician so I will see what develops.

It's fop a cool box (fridge) which runs off mains and car, it's only for use now and again.

Cheers Mark.

Yep that fridge comes in very handy. We take the cool box on cross country trips full of goodies for the kids, off to the south of France in July/August and it's a two day drive down.

Ta Mark.
