Rx400 Door Mirror Housing

I need to replace a damaged near side door mirror housing on my 2008 RX400 ( don't ask! ) Any advice on a DIY solution would be gratefully received, as would any suggestions on the best place to source the part.

Lexus only sell the complete unit colour coded at a mere £450.00!

Good, probably the next best solution is to source a secondhand one off a breaker, there are a few websites that will check stock at loads of places and they get back to you with availability and prices.

Another cheaper option is to buy from Lexus USA dealers (Sewell at Dallas for example) their prices are cheaper but take into account shipping and the possibilty of HMRC wanting their contribution.

There is another source but I cannot remember the name of them based in the middlle east usually cheaper but again watch for customs charges.
