Rx300 Sat Nav Computer Gen 2/3 Replacement / Upgrade

Hi everyone - can you help - I have just purchased a 2003 Rx300 series 2 which still has the original 2002 sat nav disc installed - which means no postcode search. Does anyone know whether the later map updates come with a postcode search facility or alternatively whether it is possible to replace the Sat Nav computer with the later Gen 5 variant from an RX400 which does?

Any help or thoughts gratefully received.

I don't think any series II RX offers full post code search.

Do you get any postcode search, maybe just the first 4 characters?

The answer to BOTH is no I'm afraid.

The lack of post codes being included in the RX300 range really pee'd me off, they where trying to get smart and use a stupid phone number search, which may have been good in the dark ages, but most business's at least now have a central call centre with one number, so this search option was useless.
