Noisy Squeak When I Drive Over Speed Bumps?

Recommended Posts

I have noticed a rather noisy squeak when i drive over speed bumps, so when i parked up, i pushed down on the front of the car to see if oi could hear the noise, but i heard nothing, it seems to do it in the mornings or after it has been stood for a few hours, when warmed up I don't seem to notice it.

Could this be shocks or springs? if so I would like some lowering springs, are they available in the uk? should I get shocks and springs if lowering the car or will lowering springs do?

Regards Andrew (Bison) :zee:

Have "Exactly" the same problem on '90 LX400 with 160k. After a couple of minutes.

driving, the same speed bump, at the same speed is completely silent! I will be

investigating when I feel a bit more like crawling under the front end. Will post any

solutions.

I have a similar knocking sound, strangely enough only when it is very cold (<4 degrees) outside (car isn't garaged).

Only from the front nearside suspension, and disappears after about 10 minutes.

Thought perhaps it's to do with the air suspension and the cold temperatures, but dealer is equally puzzled (very hard to demo as it only happens first thing in the morning when the car is first driven).
