Cleaning Egr Value

Hi,

How often should I clean the EGR valve on my 220d I've had it for nearly 10 months now and the dealer, Who had sold a few before and knew of the issue had it cleaned before I picked it up its since covered 6k?

I've noticed a drop in efficiency but assume this is cold morning starts.

When I had my 220d I cleaned the EGR every 8-10,000mls.

Can u b sure they cleaned it????? For ur peace of mind clean it I done mine about 1 yr ago when I bought it,it's quite easy to do u can do it when weather gets better in mean time use v power from shell if it's not bad then it Will clear it if u still find its causing issure then clean it u can use carb cleaner or egr cleaner if I still got car in summer will clean it again

Generally in cold weather mpg droppes mine doing it aswell I'm getting 23-24 mpg motorway 35 mpg

Im getting around 32mpg round town at the moment,normally get 35-36 in warmer months
