  3. Hi...have located it. On my is300h the ambient air temperature sensor is located immediately under the upper horizontal frame of the 'chickenware' on the passenger side, below the front grille, as per the attached jpg. You'll see the sensor part is a 'stub' shape. You can reach it with a small pencil sized cleaner and water squirt bottle. It did not seem to be that dirty, but hopefully the clean has improved its sensitivity/accuracy Hope that helps!

  4. IIRC the series IV LS400 was fitted with either conventional halogen or HID headlights. The HID lights have adjustors for both vertical and horizontal plane movement. If anyone would like the adjustment section of the OEM manual please send me your email address by PM.

  6. Got the car back this evening.. Goes like a rocket and seems more "refined" than before. I'm getting 45 mpg at a constant 80mph. @cjetsy - you were right about the fuel filter. Mechanic changed mine after I mentioned it and it was the original one, was never changed before. It's a bitch of a job due to the location beside rear axle, hence it was never changed previously (took him 2 hours). All in all I got the egr and attached manifold totally cleaned out, dpf chemically cleaned and regenerated, oil and oil filter changed and the fuel filter changed. I can honestly say that the car has never run smoother but I will post an update if anything changes...I have a 150 mile trip tomorrow so plan to drive fairly fast to see how it goes. Another thing, the turbo lag that is common on these appears to have disappeared and I can pull out of junctions etc.. now without having to slip the clutch and rev the arse off it

  7. If you do not want to spend the money on the illuminated tread plates then consider replacing the puddle lights with some logo projector type. I bought a pair off ebay for around £20. They are plug & play fitted in ten minutes. Ed

  8. This morning I saw a new, brown RX450h on the back of a transporter travelling north along the M3 and exiting at junction 6 (going to the Reading dealership maybe?) Not a colour that I would pick, but beautiful nonetheless, with real depth to the gloss showed off by the sun (sun! - remember that!?) shining on it, and actually not as dark as I was expecting it to be after seeing pictures online.

  9. Well I took my car into a local garage for them to have a look and they were unable to see any fault codes, so they had quick look over the car and suggested to change the fuel filter just to rule it out as its a cheap part and somewhere to start. so booked that in today and the car is now all back to normal no more loss of power :-) so i would suggest changing that first as it has fixed my issue

  10. I would consider buying one on ebay. You will find that a lot of Lexus drivers on the continent are not interested in the UK disks and therefore sell them on ebay for far less money than Lexus' retail price. If you are not fussed about getting the latest version, you can pick up disks that are a couple of years old for £20-£30. I bought one such disk from someone in Germany and others on this forum have done the same. Again, you will need to do a search... I remember some posts giving all the relevant details... Yep, voice control in the 300/350/400h is pretty much useless. I never could get it to work properly either. Besides, it can take so long to work your way through all the prompts and menus that it is often quicker to just press the buttons yourself!
