  1. Billy Bull :tsktsk: . Not really any issues but they do wear out through normal driving. Lowering your car or driving hard can accelerate the wear though.
  2. Taz 1 I think is the only one. I asked about this a few weeks ago. I think it makes quite a bit of difference but I suspect it takes a lot of setting up and you have to know what you are doing.
  3. Jack up the front of your car so the front wheel is just off the floor. Use a long bar to lift the wheel up, when you lift up and down you will be able to feel movement if they are worn.
  4. All I would say is running costs. As with Lexus most parts are dealer only but some twice the price as Lexus. M3 is a very nice car though, I suppose it will be down to your personal choice.
  5. Yes just getting mine sorted. I replaced the 2 front ball joints. cost about £100. Fitted them myself, only took half an hour per side. 2 new tyres and geometry being done this week.
  6. In the past Ive paid anywhere from £5 to £10 per wheel to swap tyres over. Balanced, new valve etc.
  7. Joking apart do be carefull with regard to eggs. A mate of mine a few years ago left his car for about 6 hours in a public car park one night. Someone had egged his bonnet, we washed it off straight away but it still needed respraying.
  8. All I am saying is that a fuel filter is there to FILTER the fuel. Any dirt in the tank or fuel will be taken out by the filter. Filling up out of a can or just the accumulation of dirt over time will be in the filter. Its just something to try who knows how old the car is and whether it has had the filter changed. It may be that the car is 6 years old and has never had a filter change, unlikely but possible. The simptoms he has given could indicate a blockage in the fuel filter. Monster, if you have a mate with an IS try swapping the fuel pump relay. Sometimes they can play up and cause all sorts of problems.
  9. Have a look at your fuel filter next time you change it.
  10. Sat Nav is CD or DVD based so no sub required. Try getting an induction kit and exhaust done first.
  11. I think the filter is in the tank along with the pump. Shouldn't be too hard to do. I would think the filter will be about £20 but someone else should be able to confirm price.
  12. Quite a common fault. Will only get worse I think. I dont know whether it can be cleaned, i suspect not. Will cost about £300 to get repaired by autosound.
  13. I too built a custom airbox/heatshield for my calibra turbo. Didn't look that impressive but you could definately feel the difference.
  14. I have tyre scub on my front tyres so have changed my :tsktsk: ball joints and am going to get my geometry done along with new tyres. Out of interest I jacked up my rears and did the usual bar test (jack wheels just off floor and lift wheel with bar) and found some very small movement/knocking on both rear wheels. As far as I can see it isn't the ball joint or wheel bearings. Anyone got any ideas?????
  15. All I know is this: Lower intake temperature = more power Higher intake temperature = more chance of detonation These 2 rules are even more so important on turbo cars. To sum up if you want to look after your engine, keep the intake temp down. Well done Mr Morse!
  16. Ive been on here for a while but thought it was about time I posted here. Well Im Lee living in Lincolnshire with my wife to be Linzi and cat Star. I am 27 and work as a Harvesting Manager for a Turf and Landcaping company. Due to get married next year. ----------------------- life size image removed.
  17. When you run the tank low you have more of a chance of sucking up all the dirt and debris that has accumulated in the tank. I personally never let my tank go below 1/4.
  18. Fuel filter. Have you been running your fuel tank low, ie filling up when the light comes on?
  19. Most of the fuel resistant sealants I am aware of are for contrete ot building construction. I persume you require an automotive sealant?
  20. The guide is still in here somewhere. Remember to use MASKING TAPE on the dash
  21. Usually noisy tensioner. A rattle from the cam cover.
  22. If the cam belt snapps your engine will stop. At the least you will end up with bent valves. I had the belt snap on my Calibra Turbo and got away with changing just the valves. Obviously at higher RPM the damage gets worse. Most of the time it will end it in you needing a new engine. All in all very costly. My advice get it checked sometimes belts can go for no reason. Its cheaper to get it looked at now. Also many dealers will not cover cam belts under warranty.
  23. Like I said this was an addition on top of the price to fix an error 3 fault at £280 +Vat.
  24. This has been done by several people to get past the problem. It just depends how awkward the MOT tester is. I think the wiper blade has to cover a % of the screen.
