  1. Sorry to hear about your car Marcus, w@#@ers! Good statement Pete, I agree with everything you said. I have had my garage broken into twice, windscreen scratched and all I get from the police is a crime reference number, no call, no investigation! The police portion of my council tax has gone up 14% this year, no doubt for more speed cameras! Ian
  2. I done the same in my bosses V6 Vectra a few years back at newport pagnel services. The car died and the RAC towed it to a garage for them to drain the Diesel. During the process they managed to tow the car into a wall, I'd only been with the company six weeks! However, he somehow managed to forgive me and I am still with the company after seven years. :) Ian
  3. Thanks aido, I went to my local dealer and then had the IS300 LE, I like the fact it comes as standard with spoiler, tinted windows, scuff plates etcs. Pity they didnt do that for the IS200, although I guess you could get them as extras.
  4. Thanks chaps, just out of interest what is LSD? I've looked on Lexus tech site and cannot find any mention of it.
  5. Thanks for the quick reply!
  6. Hi All! I have had the delight of driving an IS200 SE for the past three years, its now coming to the time when I can choose again and I was looking at the Sport or limited edition versions. What do people think I should go for? I like the spoiler on the sport version and the scuff plates but also like the colour and wheels on the LE. Does anyone have any pics of an IS200 LE? I was thinking of maybe buying my SE off the lease company, they want 11k, Y plate 60k on the clock. However I lose the benefit of not having to worry about servicing, tyres insurance etc. What have people here done in similar situations? Ian
  7. I've had the same problem since day one, even after replaing the blades. I'll give the white spirit a go though! :P Ian
  8. Hi All, I have the same problem, 16 months old (Y reg 2000), 29k on the clock. I recently had the wheel trims restored after kwik fit decided to scratch them whilst changing tyres. I would be interested in speaking with the dealer to see if they could replace my wheels, would be good :D The car is on company lease with lex, do you think this would cause a problem? Apart from the wheels I am very pleased with the car, cannot fault it. Cheers Ian
  9. Hi Gareth, I use wonder wheels every other week, you can get this from halfords. Very good, comes with brush so easy to get into all parts of the alloy. Ian
  10. I had the misfortune of driving down the A1 (UK), and have a branch snap off a tree and shatter my windscreen and break the back casing on the drivers side wing mirror. Somehow managed to keep control of the car, was very lucky! I have taken the car to the dealer and they advise that I need a whole new wing mirror, :( its only part of the rear case that is broken and looks like it could easily be replaced without replacing the whole unit. Anyone know if this is true, if so, do you where I could get the part from? The dealer advised that Lexus only sell the whole unit. Thanks in advance Ian
  11. The smell I get is noticed as soon as you get out of the car. I think its coming from under the car rather than the exhaust. It only happens on rare occasions and usually for no reason, could be a 5 minute trip to the supermarket. My second service is due in 2000 miles time so i'll ask the dealer to check it out then. FYI anyway I have the optional chrome exhaust. Ian
  12. I get the same problem, even with short journeys. I've had the car over 9 months and occasionaly I can smell a burning smell when getting out of the drivers side. I have noticed it since day one. Might ask the dealer the next time it goes for a service. Ian
