  1. Glad everything worked out fine for you. By the way, what was the speed of the car at the time of accident ? Was there any serious injury to other drivers or passengers ? Were their vehicles new, huge, small or 4WD etc ? It's interesting to know all these factors involving the accident of this IS250.
  2. Most new exhaust ticks regardless of brands. It will take approx two months to settle before all ticks vanish.
  3. What can be done at Jindabyne at this time of the year without snow ? Any interesting thing down the snowy mountain on december/January ?
  4. It sounds interesting, please post the information here :D
  5. What's "free servicing for 4 years" means ? Are you saying that you don't even have to pay for the normal schedule "10000km/6 months" service including all oil/filter change ? By the way, I've been to all three Lexus Owners Club and found that the one from Australia the useless/hopeless one. No one ever answered any question even for a very simple question.
  6. Are you saying that the gearbox on all IS200 are the same ? No one closer than any others ?
  7. My one doesn't have "boot spoiler with LED brake light" Could not locate the "rear quarter privacy glass with sport logos". Do you have a picture of it please. Do you mind to explain what's "limited slip diff" and "close ratio box". What's advantage and good about it over other cars ?
  8. My Lexus is an IS200 Sport Automatic but I could not locate the word "Sport" anywhere on the vehicle nor in the manual. Does the word "Sport" implies that this is a sport car like WRX, 200SX, Integra, S2000, MR2, Celica etc ? I looked over & over again, and the only thing I found is that the wheels and exhaust are similar from those sport cars. The body looks just like any sedan and with a noisy engine, which I expected it to be dead quiet from a luxury brand. When I compared it to all the sport cars I know I found it to be the least performance one. And on the road, it's even a lot slower than the very basic Mazda6 & Accord Euro when racing off from the traffic light, which cost almost just half the price. ;) Still wondering for the last few months whether the money spent worthwhile ;) Hope to hear more positive comment from you.
  9. Nop, some polices are biased and they hate Lexus especially those who owns BM & Mec. They always look very hard for virtually anything just to pull you over or give you the hassle. I would say that Lexus is not very exceptional in Europe especially there're so many inherited European cars around. In Asia, some cops even help you clean the dirty spot when they see it, cause they're a fan of Lexus :P
  10. Does it cost more to have the SNOW mode on ? I believe more fuel is consumed with less power output
  11. If anyone's got the CD, would you please kindly upload the CD image to www.yousendit.com or www.rapidshare.com for others to share.
  12. Just wondering if anyone knows where to download the workshop manual for IS200 so that we can carry out some minor service ourself, at least to be able to change the brake pad. I've seen it HERE but the link does not lead to anywhere.
  13. So what's the best fuel consumption for this car ? Could someone please advice their best driving practice in saving some drop of oil for this car ?
  14. I had experienced the traction control activated a few times when turning sharply and one of the wheels hit a circular metal cover on the road. When it happened, there was a soft click/crack sound coming from the bottom of the car, the car then rock a little with the slippery sign on the panel flashed for about 2 seconds. Has any of you guys had the SNOW button pressed when driving on an icy road ? I think that will minimize the trigger of the traction control. If traction control noise is really a concern then you can just turn it off by pressing the button in front of you. That's why the button is there.
  15. Does IS200 have pollen filter that can remove pollen from the cabin as the IS250 ?
  16. Thanks ScarFace, so how does it look like ? How can it be connected to the unit ? Is there any information for it please ?
  17. Most CD player made from 2001 up will play CD-RW disc. I have heaps of Mp3/Wma that I used to burned to CD-RW. With my previous car, I usually prepared the music that I would like to listen tomorrow the night before, and played it on the way to & from work. Even though it costs only around 20 cent per CDR, how many CDR do you think I need per year and what am I going do with it afterward ? throwing in the bin is a bit of waste isn't it ? :D And it's not legal to give it to anyone. I had thought of using mp3 player with this IS200 but the only connection is via cassette adapter or FM transmittor which has lower the quality by more than 30%, the kind of quality that I can not appreciated or enjoyed.
  18. Sorry kazdul, don't quite get what you mean Are you saying that your original IS200 CD Player plays CD-RW but you had not tried it or you had not tried it after you bought Aux adapter from ProLex, or it only plays CD-RW disc after you bought Aux adapter from ProLex ? What's Aux adapter, what is it for or how does it look like ?
  19. Are sure that your original IS200 CD Player can play ReWritable disc ? What speed and brand of the CD-RW disc that you've tried ? When was your IS200 built, mine was built 06/2005.
  20. I start to worry about the uneven tyre wear after reading this post. My IS200 was built on 06/2005 with couple thousand miles on the ODO meter so far but can not tell the uneven wear. Does the error of the 'dynamic' geometry still exist on my IS200 or how can I tell whether my IS was setup with the correct geometry. Is there anything I should do before the uneven wear occur ? Thanks in advanced for any experts advice.
  21. Is there any difference between the 99 and the latest 2005 CD of IS200 ? Is it possible for it to read a CD-RW disc ? Any advice thanks.
  22. Seems like 35 - 38 psi is the right tyre pressure for IS200. But is that the tyre pressure when the tyre is cool or did you guys measure it at the petrol station after driving for some miles ?
  23. "Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer™ Interior Wipes" is great but I use "Meguiar's trim & floor cleaner" as that's what I could find in my area. Not sure if it can cause any damage if use on the leather trim around the Alcantara.
  24. Thanks all for these great tips :D , the tips just getting better & better one after another. I would say any new luxury car lover has read this would have minimized the damage to their car by over 80%. I would not expect to have a dentless car for 15 years like Linkster (It'd be great if it does :P ) but at least 2-3 years of dentless car. Of-course we deserve it if the chips or damages caused by stone because we don't take enough care when driving on rough or country road. But dent, scratch or mark caused by human who did it on purpose or not are something that can not be tolerated. I really hate dent, scratch or mark, they just look ***** especially on your own luxury car. All these minor damages not just cause money lost but also the hassle and worry in getting it repair at the smash repair. If you happen to have your car back from a smash repairer, if you look hard enough inside or outside of the car you might find dirt, mark or oil on seat or trim. some part of the paint might be coated with fine thin colour mist. And worstly the worriness that some parts or components of the car being swapped during the repair. This happened to some of the friends in the past. One of them had his almost new, hardly sited-on rear seat swapped for a dirty, damage seat. Another had his newly alloy wheel & tyre swapped for a scratchy one. What about electrical and engine compoents ? Even if you are an expert you can't really tell or check it all during the pickup. Hence only careless people can have serenity sleep.
  25. Sorry to repeat the question, does it cause any damage to the car at all by just using 91 octane unlead fuel all alone? 91RON is a lot cheaper than the 98RON. So which type of the petrol (91, 95 or 98) is the most efficient in term of cost concern, ie with $100 of petrol which one will do the most distance ? Thanks for any comment.
