  1. Hi M8y....thought you would spot the post soon enuff :winky: Yes I am well chuffed, but still on a big learning curve with all those buttons :o I think the next few weeks / months will see me sitting at the controls and reading all the manuals, together with posting loads of Qs on here. Thanks for the info on posting piccies....I will have a go as soon as we get back ( wifey wants to go shopping, and we ave to return to the dealer this afternoon for the freebies...whatever
  2. Believe it or not...I STILL havent figured out how to put piccies on this site....only one done so far is linked to some free hosting site for a piccie of my other toy. Wifey and I are just going out to wash her now, as 600 miles over the weekend including torrential filthy thuderstorm on birmingham M6 ( YUK ) has taken its toll. Please tell me SIMPLY how to post bloomin pictures on the posting. :)
  3. My naughty naughty wife has been seeing another man over the last month...yes thats right....another man ! He works for lexus, and is the salesman who has been lying to me about the delivery date of our new baby. I wake up on Saturday morning to be told by wifey that we are going to some surprise party for a friend in Surrey, and she has booked us in hotel for 2 nights etc etc. On route, she says "oh we just need to drop in to the dealership to " sign some pre-registration documents " in prep for the car's arrival in mid August. After the usual free coffee and buns, I walk outside, to find our old car absent from the parking space where I left it, and it has been replaced with ....... yep.........u got it.........SHE IS HERE ! Several weeks of secret liaisons beetween the bu***rs has resulted in us collecting her there and then, and enjoying our 600 mile weekend trip in our lovely new St Lucia pearl. :D :D :D When I finally come back down to earth, I will post something a little more constructive about about my initial impressions, but the general flavour will be " rattle free and rather nice....." :winky:
  4. Missed you mate - have you been enjoying the sun or something? Anyway - I reckon I'd wait till '56 is out...but then it all depends on what they'll give you for paying the balance in August and taking it early, and also it depends on how long you keep it. If it's more than 5 or 6 years it won't make too much of a difference, but if you intend to sell it in a year or three it could be worth as much £750!! Hi m8y....yep we have been enjoying our small apartment in Turkey :D Also been busy again getting back into one of my other main hobbies - R/C flying....as well of course as gadding about in the Hawke :D :D Incidentally, I dont intend selling the car any time soon, but you never know what may happen do ya?
  5. Ordered, paid deposit, and agreed p/ex value on December 20th 2005. IS250 SEL in Black, sussex grey leather, ,MM, auto, sunroof. IE the dogs danglys :D Was "promised" delivery for March 2006. In Feb we decided to change the colour we wanted to St Lucia pearl, all else remained same. Delivery was to be May / June. Delivery then said to be more likely July. latest info ( as of Monday last ) dealer "expects" car 31st July, I suppose that means I get it around mid August ( my birthday ). Hmmmm, now more decisions....do I wait until Sept 1st for 56 plate??? So .....from time of changing spec, (feb 3rd) until I get the car - minimum 28 weeks / 7 months jeezypeeps It had SO better be rattle free and worth it in every respect I am a cash buyer too !
  6. Hi boys....please lets not turn this flamin ! Perhaps we should agree that some misunderstanding of content was occuring I don't want to fall out with peeps here on the Lexus Forum, I was only trying to help inexperienced people to avoid buying what appears to be a Toy, but in fact is quite a complex demanding, and potentially dangerous item...have a nice day y'all and calm down :D
  7. Thanks for that, but I think you missed the point. Some of us can and have built similar stuff either of our own design, or for this one in particular from design information that Michael Connelly was so free with. The point is that for peeps who haven't had the dubious pleasure of many years building and eventually crashing model aircraft there's the ARTF or RTF (ready to fly) options, in which case it would be good to appreciate the originator and purchase his brand. Hi Tango....I am not sure what you mean about "missed the point". I was merely stating that there are loads of these flying objects ( mainly clones ) already on the market both here and the US. The original poster ( and several others) appeared to me to be somewhat impressed / surprised / etc by this video - which is now relatively "old hat " ..... and that suggests to me they are not experienced modellers. This type of R/C craft is not suitable for novices, and it is impracticable to just go out and buy one and just start using it. I am not sure what all this talk is about them not being available yet, and that they are going to cost hundreds of pounds ? Phooeey ! As an R/C modeller of over 30 years, B certificate holder for 29, and a registered club instructor, I think I am qualified to make such an observation.
  8. there are loads of these about...anyone who has enough experience to construct / handle one will know that :-)
  9. Forget that smelly greasy tractor fuel and buy a car with a proper engine :D Just ask Jamboo :winky:
  10. 54 but with the eta of my first Lexus now set at 31st July, it is likely that I will be 55 by the time it gets onto my drive
  11. Cadoxton I presume you mean...unless there is a colour I missed ? Congrats, hope it arrived and you are pleased :-)
  12. Oh I say old boy, how very common and working class :ban-em: Not a f****ng chance
  13. So £9K just for 2 front seats? Allow maybe 3k for the back bench with armresties and stuff - total just for the seats - 12K almost half the price of the whole car....something tells me the stealers are telling porkies??
  14. No didnt catch this one.....only thing I know about the SC430 is it looks cool, is made by Lexus, and I can't really afford to buy a new one, or I would. Although JC makes me laugh, and I agree with a lot of his viewpoints on many things, when it comes to his opinion of cars - he is in a world of his own :duh: As for the porsche, I suppose the generally good review presented by hamster will more than compensate for a few bent panels :winky:
  15. Tend to agree there mate......in fact I dont think any of the new series episodes have been up to much....pity as it was the only TV programme that I would ever moan about if I missed it - and always looked forward to the return of the series, suffering withdrawal symptons for a week or 2 after the series ends for the winter.Perhaps Its just me getting a little bored with the same old stuff?
  16. Funny how JC was raving about all the toys and futuristic stuff on the new S class tonight- 'cos I reckon nearly all of 'em are already on the new IS - if you go for the full package. OK so it hasn't got forward looking infra-red vision, but radar controlled cruise / surround sound system / dvd / voice controlled gizmos / yep we got them :D So whats the big deal about the merc
  17. Your first option should be to restore that super avatar that I looked forward to leering at every day :winky:
  18. Im not so sure that the aforementioned driver ( Hi jamboo :winky: ) does only park in the "mum and brat" spaces when the sprogs are on board....... - but I'm sure he will correct me if I am slandering him :D :D
  19. Luv it Luv it Luv it :D :D :D
  20. they dont do a yellow one :-( I take it you went for Black interior? Nope....Sussex ( grey to you and me) I was merely being sarcastic in the hope that my lovely St Lucia pearl with grey interior remains rare :D PS When you gonna put your hand in pocket and stump up for Gold membership Jamboo......with all the postings you do you should be on the b****y staff :-)
  21. yes but what else can anyone suggest ? As I see it we IS 220 / 250 owners are gonna suffer badly in this department as the doors have no rubbing strips at all. My car hasn't even arrived yet, and already I am scared to park it anywhere
